Thank you for giving me this opportunity to introduce myself and to say how happy I am to be a member of the Westlake school community. The academic environment is unique since its goal is to meet the needs of students preparing to live in a world where success not only depends on a high level of academic achievement but also on a high level of self-knowledge and self-esteem.

As a teacher and advocate for my students, I see my role as that of a learning facilitator, a person who challenges and engages students by showing them the world, not always as it is, but as it can be. As a faculty member, I see my role as that of a team player since I believe that all of us, teachers, staff, administrators and students' families satisfy a crucial need in the lives of students who look to us for encouragement and direction.
